Product Description:
Diammonium hydrogen phosphate, also known as diammonium phosphate and commonly abbreviated as DAP, is found in the form of colorless transparent monoclinic crystals or a white powder. The substance has a relative density of 1.619 and a melting point of 190℃.
It is easily soluble in water, and its aqueous solution is alkaline. A 1% aqueous solution of DAP has a pH of 8.0, while a 0.1 mol/L solution has a pH of 7.8. On the other hand, it is not soluble in alcohol and dimethyl ketone.
Over time, when DAP is exposed to air, it gradually loses about 8% of its ammonia content and transforms into ammonium dihydrogen phosphate. It also can undergo a reaction with ammonia water to produce triammonium phosphate.

Applications:
In industry, industrial-grade diammonium hydrogen phosphate (DAP) is used as a fire retardant for textiles, wood, and paper, and also serves as an additive in fire-resistant coatings.
In agriculture, it functions as a high-efficiency, chlorine-free nitrogen-phosphorus compound fertilizer. It dissolves rapidly in water, which facilitates crop absorption. Its weakly alkaline nature helps effectively ameliorate acidic soils.
