Product Description:
Industrial-grade monoammonium phosphate, also known by its Chinese alias ammonium dihydrogen phosphate and abbreviated as TMAP, has the chemical formula NH4H2PO4 and a molecular weight of 115.03. This substance appears as a white powder or granular material (granular products exhibit high particle compressive strength), with a melting point of 190℃, a density of 1.803 at 18℃, and a solubility of 41.6 g/100g at 25℃. The pH of a 1% aqueous solution is 4.5.
It is readily soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol, and insoluble in dimethyl ketone. It remains stable at room temperature, lacks redox properties, and does not combust or explode when exposed to high temperatures, acids, alkalis, or redox substances. It demonstrates good solubility in water and acids, the powdered form is somewhat hygroscopic.
Additionally, it possesses excellent thermal stability and dehydrates at high temperatures to form viscous chain compounds such as ammonium pyrophosphate, ammonium polyphosphate, and ammonium metaphosphate.
Applications:
In industry, ammonium phosphate is primarily utilized as a fire-prevention agent for fabric, timber, and paper, along with being a component in fire-prevention coatings and dry powder fire extinguishers.
Within the agricultural sector, it serves primarily as a highly effective non-chloride nitrogen and phosphorus compound fertilizer. This fertilizer is entirely water-soluble, making it ideal for drip irrigation systems, providing high efficiency. It can be applied to a wide range of food crops and cash crops due to its effectiveness. The total nutrient content (N+P2O5) stands at 73%, positioning it as a valuable raw material for the production of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium compound fertilizers.
