It appears as white crystals or a white powder, with no discernible odor. It remains stable in air and has a relative density of 2.338. The melting point of Potassium dihydrogen phosphate is 96℃. At 400℃, it undergoes a transformation into potassium pyrophosphate by losing water.

This compound is readily soluble in water but does not dissolve in ethanol. Its aqueous solution exhibits acidity, with a pH ranging from 4.4 to 4.7.
