Cas No 7778-77-0 MKP Monopotassium Phosphate Top Choice for Crop Production
Product Description:
Potassium dihydrogen phosphate is alternatively known as Monopotassium phosphate , often abbreviated as MKP . The chemical formula for this compound is KH 2 PO 4 .
It appears as white crystals or white powder , with no discernible odor, and remains stable in air . It possesses a relative density of 2.338 and a melting point of 96℃ . Upon losing water at 400℃ , it transforms into potassium pyrophosphate .
Potassium dihydrogen phosphate is easily soluble in water but insoluble in ethanol . In its aqueous solution , it exhibits an acidic nature with a pH range of 4.4 to 4.7 .
Applications:
Technical grade MKP is a highly efficient source of phosphorus and potassium for plants. It is suitable for root fertilization and foliar spraying, which is recommended to use at the beginning of the growing and fruit season when phosphorus and potash availability is crucial for the establishment of root systems.
1.It can be used as a high-efficiency phosphorus and potassium binary compound fertilizer. To promote root development, flowering, fruit setting, enlargement, and coloring. To enhance plant stress resistance drought, cold, lodging, pests/diseases. To apply via foliar spray, irrigation/fertigation, drop irrigation, or soilless cultivation systems.
2.It is also used for the preparation of fertilizer blends and for the production of liquid fertilizers.
Dosage & Timing: Use cautiously during early growth stages (e.g., 1-3 leaf stage for seedlings, pre-flowering) to avoid potential damage like flower or pod drop. Apply during key physiological stages like initiation, flowering, fruit setting, enlargement, and coloring.
Concentration: To avoid high concentration applications during high-temperature periods to prevent fertilizer burn. Recommended spray dilution often ranges between 300-800 times depending on the crop.
Application Time: Optimal foliar application times are before 10 AM or after 4 PM.
