MKP Monopotassium Phosphate Providing Essential Nutrients For Strong And Healthy Plants
Product Description:
Potassium dihydrogen phosphate, commonly known as Monopotassium phosphate or abbreviated as MKP, has the chemical formula KH2PO4. This compound presents itself as white crystals or a white powder, with no discernible odor. It holds a relative density of 2.338 and a melting point of 96℃. When subject to heat, at around 400℃, it undergoes a transformation into potassium pyrophosphate with water loss.
MKP demonstrates high solubility in water, yet remains insoluble in ethanol. Its aqueous solution exhibits an acidic nature, with a pH level ranging between 4.4 and 4.7.
Applications:
Technical grade MKP is a highly efficient source of phosphorus and potassium for plants. It is suitable for root fertilization and foliar spraying, which is recommended to use at the beginning of the growing and fruit season when phosphorus and potash availability is crucial for the establishment of root systems.
1. It can be used as a high-efficiency phosphorus and potassium binary compound fertilizer. It promotes root development, flowering, fruit setting, enlargement, and coloring, as well as enhances plant stress resistance to drought, cold, lodging, pests, and diseases. This fertilizer can be applied via foliar spray, irrigation/fertigation, drop irrigation, or soilless cultivation systems.
2. It is also utilized for the preparation of fertilizer blends and for the production of liquid fertilizers.
Dosage & Timing: Use cautiously during early growth stages (e.g., 1-3 leaf stage for seedlings, pre-flowering) to avoid potential damage like flower or pod drop. Apply during key physiological stages such as initiation, flowering, fruit setting, enlargement, and coloring.
Concentration: Avoid applying high concentrations during periods of high temperatures to prevent fertilizer burn. The recommended spray dilution often ranges between 300-800 times depending on the crop.
Application Time: Optimal foliar application times are before 10 AM or after 4 PM.
